Can someone explain slope intercept equations pleasey please :)

y=mx+b so b would b your intercept and mx would be your slope... the best way to explain is to show you so thin like this y=4x+5 you would place a point at positive 5 and then your slope would  be 4 over one and you would continue the pattern.
