we know that

Lisa paid
\$43.95 for
16.1 gallons of gasoline

so

by proportion

Find the cost of
1 gallon of gasoline

(43.95)/(16.1)(\$)/(gal)=(x)/(1)(\$)/(gal) \\ \\x*16.1=43.95\\ \\x=43.95/16.1\\ \\x=\$2.73

therefore

the answer is

The cost per gallon is equal to
\$2.73
