The wholesale price of a lamp is $44 and will be markup by 40 percent. What is the retail price of the lamp

61.60

Explanation:

The first thing you do is find what number is equal to the percentage 40 of $44. To find it you multiply 44 by the decimal version of 40 which is 0.4 that will give you 17.6 then you add that to 44 and that will give you 61.6 or 61.60. Hope this helps:)

the retail price is 26.4 because 40% of 44 is 17.6. if you subtract 17.6 from 44 you get 26.4
