Imagery
Imagery is using words to paint a picture. Usually imagery appeals to the sense of sight, but it can also appeal to other senses as well. In this line, the blood is described in such a way that the reader can picture it flowing dark, quickly and easily in great amounts. Even though the blood is being compared to wine, it is not a metaphor because it uses the word like. Irony is when something happens that is the opposite of what is expected. The event this is referring to can be seen as ironic since people believed a church to be the safest place; however, this line is not enough to choose irony. Prosody is a pattern of rhythm and sound. This is also not in this line.
