of a cell is known as the "
boss" of the cell
because it controls the metabolic, regulatory, and synthesis reactions present in cells

The nucleus is like the brain of the cell and even thought it is where most of the genetic information, DNA, is stored it also
serves to control the cell's function
, as would your boss.
