Pok a Tok was a game of high religious importance.
Pok a Tok was a fast-paced ball game played by the Mayas. The game consists of 2 teams usually formed by one or two individuals who would try to cross a rubber ball through a hoop that was located 20 feet above the ground. A regular game would last numerous weeks as it had paused. This meant that the game would end once the ball goes through the ring, sealing the losing team's faith as it had to be sacrificed to the gods. This is why the filed was surrounded by temples.
