The length of the hypotenuse of a right triangle

is 10 cm and the length of one leg is 5 cm. What is
the length of the other leg?

The other 2 legs then are x and 3x
Pythagorean theorm tells us (x)^2 + (3x)^2 = (10)^2
x^2 + 9x^2 = 100
10x^2 = 100
x^2 =10
x= sqroot10= 3.16
