The earth would slowly shrink due to the decrease of nuclei during fusions.

According to Einstein, mass can be transformed into forms like energy and then energy can convert back to mass hence it is conserved.

It says that mass of an object has nothing to do with the changes in states however a big mass would be needed more energy and power to convert or change states.

So it can be said that during change of states, there will appear no impact on the mass of objects it will remain same but if changes appear in the mass, the earth will shrink with time.
