12v = 9v + 6 solve for v

Well what you want to do is isolate v to make it look either like this:

v=
or
=v

It doesn't matter where the v is placed as long as it's by itself.

The first step would be to subtract 9v from +6 then your equation would look like this:

3v=6

you aren't finished, though, you still have to isolate v so you divide 3 off of v because you do the inverse operation of whatever it is since 3v is multiplication you divide it so:

3/3v=6/3

your answer is:

v=2

3v= 6
Divide 3 on both sides so that the only thing left on the left side is the variable v.
