When y = 4

Y/3 − 8 =

This simply means where you see y put 4 instead

4/3 - 8 =

Convert -8 to (-8 * 3)/3

(- 8 * 3)/3 + 4/3

We can now combine the fractions because the denominators are equal or the same.

(-8 * 3 + 4)/3

= (-24 + 4)/3

= - 20/3

Because the numerator of the fraction is negative we can say that the whole fraction is negative.

Answer
= - (20)/3
