Suppose that you are building a shed and need to pour concrete slab to support it you know this lab will be 15 feet wide 10 feet long and 6 inches deep concrete is usually sold by the cubic yard how many cubic yards of concrete what you need for the slab?

So,

To find the cu³ of the slab, multiply the dimensions.

15 * 10 * 6 = ?
150 * 6 = ?
900 = ?

In feet³, the slab needs to be 900ft.³

We don't want ft.³ We want yd.³
3 ft. = 1 yd.

900/3 = x
300 = x

You need a concrete slab with a volume of 300yd.³(300 cubic yards).
