Hello,
shall we begin?
5x - 31 = 2x + 8
5x - 2x = 31 + 8
3x = 39
x = 39/3
x = 13
Answer: 13

minus 2x bot sides
5x-2x-31=2x-2x+8
3x-31=0+8
3x-31=8
add 31 both sides
3x=39
divide 3
x=13
