Answer: Gas atoms subjected to electricity emit bright lines of light.

Explanation: When Gas atoms are subjected to electricity, they will shake the electrons present in the atoms which would be in random motion in the atom itself.

Thus it will eject one one electron which will move into another higher energy levels releasing photons.

Thus they will emit bright lines of light.

Gas atoms do absorb white light but they donot emit a continuous spectrum of light.
