Jasmine wants to paint two of her bedroom walls. The ceiling is 8 feet high. One wall is 18 feet in length, but it has a French door measuring 5 feet wide and 7 feet tall. The other wall is 15 feet in length and has a large window measuring 6 feet wide and 3 feet tall. The door and the window are not paintable.
Column A: the paintable area of the wall with the door.
Column B: the paintable area of the wall with the window.
Which of these statements about column A and column B is TRUE.

First, we calculate Column A:
Paintable area = wall area - door area
= 8 * 18 - 5 * 7
= 109 sq ft
Next, Column B:
Paintable area = wall area - window area
= 8 * 15 - 6 * 3
= 102 sq ft
Therefore, the area in Column A is greater. The answer is A.
