A pet store has 9 dogs, 6 cats, 8 gerbils, and 7 parrots. A pet is chosen at random. What is the probability of choosing a cat or dog?

Answer:

15/30 = 1/2 or 50%

Explanation:

Since there are 9 dogs and 6 cats, if you add them you get 15

15 will me your numerator

To get the denominator add all of the animals. So 9 + 6 + 8 + 7

You will get 30
