1.What is the Doppler Effect? 2.How can the Doppler Effect be useful for a forensic investigation involving a shooting? If you found a firearm at a crime scene, what steps would you take in order to transport the weapon to the lab?

The Doppler effect is the increasing or decreasing in the frequency of sound or light as the observer or the source moves away from or closer to each other. The doppler effect can be useful for the shooting because you can determine how close the victim was to the gun by their wound size and blood splatter. If you found a firearm at a crime scene, the steps to transport the weapon to the lab would be to ensure that you have gloves on before touching to make sure your fingerprints to not end up on the gun and to place it in a marked bag.
