Each batch of mrs.crawleys toffee makes 14 pieces of toffee. If sandy needs 8 dozens pieces of toffee , how many batches does she have to make ?

so each batch makes 14 pieces
and she need 8 dozen (dozen=12) so 8 dozen=8*12=96
so 14 pieces per batch
needs 96 pieces

x=number of batches
14 times x=96
14x=96
divide both sides by 14
x=96/14
96/14= aprox 6.86

but you normally can't make a fraction of a batch so she need to make 7 batches at the least
