We are given the expression;

p^3\cdot p^2

To write this as an exponent we shall simolify as follows;

\begin{gathered} \text{Apply the rule;} \\ a^x\cdot a^y=a^(x+y) \end{gathered}

We now have;

\begin{gathered} p^3\cdot p^2 \\ =p^(3+2) \\ =p^5 \end{gathered}

To write this without exponents, would mean to multiply it all out in its actual form which is;

p* p* p* p* p

Note that

\begin{gathered} p^5 \\ is\text{ equivalent to } \\ p* p* p* p* p \end{gathered}

ANSWER:

p* p* p* p* p
