Yes, if the amount of DNA in a gamete of an organism is n, the amount of chromosomal content present in body cells would be 2n. As these gametes would fuse together each having a single amount of chromosomal content from paternal organisms, it would fuse or combine together to result in an organism that has the complete genetic makeup of the particular species of organism that the parent has.
