suppose a large truck on a hydraulic lift exerts 7,000 n of force on a piston with an area of 0.4 m2. the piston can only support 16,000 pa of pressure. how much pressure is exerted by the truck on the piston?

Pressure, P = Force / area

Force = 7000 N
Area = 0.4 m^2

P = 7000 N / 0.4 m^2 = 17500 N/m^2 = 17500 pa

Then the truck exerts a higher pressure on the piston than what it can support.
