Peter should buy 3 gallons of paint because 4 multiplied by 3 equals 12 quarts so if you multiply the top by 3 toy multiply the bottom by 3vso you get 12 out of 3. by the way we are doing frationd

3. because 1 gal=4 quarts (1:4 ratio) ? gal= 12 quarts. Because 12 divided by 4 is 3. it is then a 3:12 ratio
