first, have your numbers lined up like so ---> 25

Always have the larger number on top. First multiply 2 x 5. add the number in the tens place to the result of the 2nd step. Multiply 2x2. So now you should have this.

50 Then have a placeholder below in the one's spot
x Then do the same but with the but with the second number, so you have

Then add the two bottom numbers together and boom you done
