5x-3=7-3x\ \ \ \ | add\ 3x\\\\ 8x-3=7\ \ \ \ | add\ 3\\\\ 8x=10\ \ \ | divide\ by\ 8\\\\ x=(10)/(8)=(5)/(4)=1(1)/(4)\\\\ x=1(1)/(4)

ffirst you try to get all the unknowns on one side si
5x-3=7-3x
add 3x to both sides
8x-3=7
add 3 to both sides
8x=10
divide both sides by 8
x=10/8=5/4= 1 and 1/4=1.25
