What could be a synonym for the word ‘revolution' in the historical era known as the industrial revolution?

d. Transformation.

There was CHANGE happening during the Industrial Revolution (i.e. farm work to machine work). So the economy was changing aka "transforming".

A revolution would be a synonym for a rebellion/uprising/upheaval if we were talking about an event like the French Revolution (French poor were rebelling against the rich Royals).
