During a positive gross domestic product growth or a boom, incomes are high and therefore so also is disposable income, in which people will be more likely to purchase normal goods such as bottled water. During a negative economic growth or a recession, reduced income of consumers results in the increased sale of inferior good which include tap water. I hope this answer helps.
