Choose the true statement about the graph of x - 1 ≤ 2.. open circle on 1 and all numbers to the right shaded. closed circle on 1 and all numbers to the left shaded. closed circle on 3 and all numbers to the left shaded. open circle on 3 and all numbers to the left shaded

x - 1 < = 2....add 1 to both sides
x < = 2 + 1
x < = 3

This will have a closed circle (because there is an equal sign in the problem)...on 3, and all numbers to the left are shaded(because it is less then).

Answer:

Option C

closed circle on 3 and all numbers to the left shaded.

Explanation:

Given is an inequality in variable x

The inequality is

x-1\leq 2

Simplify this to get

x\leq 3

Thus this inequality represents the region to left of 3 in the number line including the number 3.

i.e. The closed circle on 3 to indicate that this includes 3 and shading all to the left of 3.
