Ok

A = negative

B = positive

The midpoint will be positive when A be close to zero and B be farther than zero.

For instance,

A = -1 B = 5

Midpoint = (-1 + 5 ) / 2 = 4/2 = 2 The midpoint is positive because B is a high number and A is close to zero.
