A square painting has a diagonal of 44 in. Lorraine wants to frame the picture. How many inches of frame will she need? Round to the nearest inch.

diagonal = 44 inches

The frame is square shape therefore its side lengths are equal. We need to solve for the side length using the diagonal.

a = √2 d/2
a = √2 44/2
a = √2 22
a = 1.414 * 22
a = 31.112 or 31 inches

Perimeter: 31 inches * 4 sides = 124 inches
