Cashews. He bought 2 5/16 peanuts which if you divide 5 by 16 it will give you .31 rounded and the two whole pounds which will give you 2.31 pounds of peanuts which is less than 2.45 pounds of cashews. so he bought more pounds of cashews than peanuts.

Answer:

Given: Tom bought 2 5/16 pounds of peanuts and 2.45 pounds of cashews.

To find: Which did he buy more

Solution: To find which he buy more, we first need to find the amount of peanut and cashews he bought.

Here, he bought 2 5/16 pounds of peanuts.

So, first we need to convert the amount of peanuts in decimal form to find the answer easily.

2(5)/(16)

=(37)/(16)

=2.3125

So, he bought 2.32 pounds(rounded to nearest hundredth) of peanuts, and 2.45 pounds of cashews

After comparing the tenths we can say that he buys more cashews.
