A nature club is having its weekly hike. The table shows how many pieces of fruit and water bottles of water each member of the club brought to share. I need help with all parts, part a, b, and c.

Answer:

a) 3.5 ≈ 3

b) Hendrick and Baxter

c) 4.25 ≈ 4

Explanation:

a) To find the amount each person gets after splitting it equally is the same as finding the average:


(3+2+4+5)/(4) =3.5

Each person can get 3 whole fruits, and then there are two left which they can split so each person gets another half.

b)Hendrick and Baxter brought 2 and 3 fruits respectively, so they will be receiving more than what they came with.

c) Similar to a), the average of the water bottles should be calculated:


(5+2+3+7)/(4) =4.25

Since water bottles cant physically be split, it is more likely that each person will get 4 bottles and that there will be one spare bottle
