The colonist were mad that the stamp act forced them to pay a tax on all printed material. Therefore they made speeches to protest burnt stamps

-secret socities were formed
- courts were shut down because no one would pay the tax
-PROTEST
-Businesses onely ingored the law cause they wanted to actaully recieve money but with the colonists protest if the stores went along they will make no money
