It is much easier to work with whole numbers, compared to fractions, hence one should remove the denominator of the fraction. This can be done by multiplying by the LCM (least common multiple). In this case, it is fairly obvious that the LCM of 3 and 5 is 15. Therefore multiply the entire equation by 15.


15*(m)/(3) - 15*(2m)/(5)=15*(1)/(5)

Simplify


5m-6m=3


-m=3\\m=-3
