a. yes, because 4x5=20 so it is enough for her friends. B 4x2 = 8 (from 5.2) so Pamela has 0.8 string left

Answer:

Each friendship bracelet needs 5.2 inches of string.

For 4 bracelets, she will need
5.2*4=20.8 inches

A) If Pamela has 20 inches of string, does she have enough to make bracelets for 4 of her friends?

No, because for each bracelet, she will have only
(20)/(4)=5 inches. But that is less as she needs 5.2 inches per bracelet.

B) She will need
20.8-20=0.8 inches more.

Hence, she will need 0.8 inches of string more to make 4 bracelets.
