so quotient means divide so 2k/-2.6=12

we know that if we divide a negative by a negative, we will get a positive, and if the signs are diffarent, then the answer will be negative so k must be negative

so 2k/-2.6=12
multiply both sides by -2.6 to get rid of the -2.6 denominator

2k=-31.2
divide both sides by 2
k=-15.6
