Connective Tissue.- tissue that connects, supports, binds, or separates other tissues or organs, typically having relatively few cells embedded in an amorphous matrix, often with collagen or other fibres, and including cartilaginous, fatty, and elastic tissues

Connective tissue, as the name suggests, are the group of tissues which supports, connects, binds, or separates other organs or tissues in the body.

For example, tendon is a connective tissue which connects muscle to bone, ligament is connective tissue that connects one bone with another bone.

These are broadly of three type: loose connective tissue, dense connective tissues, and adipose connective tissue.
