I've been feeling very depressed about something that happened to me in the past and I can't stop thinking about it. How can I calm down?

I feel that when I'm out of good spirits and depressed, exercise helps tremendously

deep breaths, drink some cold water, take a hot bath, listen to some of your favorite music (if its calming), and try to talk to a friend. some of these helped me more than you could understand
