Jeremy is practicing some tricks on his skateboard. One trick takes him forwards 4 feet, then he flips around and moves backwards 7.6 feet, then he moves forward again for 3.6 feet. First, you should define what forwards and backwards are - positive or negative. Let's make forwards positive and backwards negative. Then we'll call his new position "p":

p (his current position) = 4 feet - 7.6 feet + 3.6 feet

p = 7.6 feet - 7.6 feet

p = 0 feet

So, Jeremy ends up right back where he started.
