In the picture there is a food chain, that means each link obtains the energy from the immediately proceding level to live. And as you can see, the ones who begins the chain are plants, that is because they are producers of energy. Plants do photosynthesis and this is a process through which they transform light energy into chemical energy, thanks to the sun, water and mineral salts.
So all the enrgy comes form the sun.
