When solving an equation using the distributive property that involves distributing fractions, usually the first step is to multiply by the LCD to eliminate the fractions in order to simplify computation. Is it necessary to do this to solve 1/4(5x+6)=1/3(9x-24)? Why or why not?

It's not necessary, but it makes solving quicker, and more efficient. You'd have to find the LCD at some point, and doing it at the beginning helps you to not encounter as many errors as you would otherwise
