subtract volume of water on both sides

Volume of water+volume of the solid-Volume of water=62.7 ml-Volume of water

Now, put (Eq1) into (Eq4)

volume of the solid=62.7 ml-48.4 ml

volume of the solid=14.3 ml

put the values into the equation
