We are given the following inequality

4\left(x+2\right)>6

Let us solve the inequality to find the value of x.

Step 1: open the brackets

\begin{gathered} 4\left(x+2\right)>6 \\ 4x+8>6 \end{gathered}

Step 2: subtract 8 from both sides

\begin{gathered} 4x+8-8>6-8 \\ 4x>-2 \end{gathered}

Step 3: divide both side by 4

\begin{gathered} (4x)/(4)>(-2)/(4) \\ x>(-1)/(2) \end{gathered}

Therefore, the value of x is greater than -1/2 that is (x > -1/2)
