The answer:
z=16
How you get it:
(Move all terms that do not contain "z" to the right side)
2=z-14
Take two and swap it with z then, instead of subtracting, add it to fourteen.

2 = z - 14
Add 14 to both sides = {14 +} 2 = z - 14 {+ 14}
z = 16
