A. since 45% of 647 is 291.15 and those are the students that attended so subtract that from the total and you get 355.85 or rounded to 355 because you cant have .85 of a person. Plus 100%-45%=55% so .55 of 647 are the ones who didn't attend

Answer:

A.

Explanation:

45% = 0.45 and 55% = 0.55.

To find the number of students who attended to the game we multiply the percentage by the total amount of students: 0.45(647). Then, the number of students who did not attend is subtract the total and the number of students that attended: 647 - 0.45(647) = 355.

Other way is find the percentage of students who did not attend, that is 100-45 = 55% and with the same process of number of students who attended find the number of students who did not attend: 0.55(647) = 355.
