f(x)=x-3
g(x)=-0.5x

(f-g)(x)=((x-3)-(-0.5x))(x)=(x-3+0.5x)(x)=(1.5x-3)(x)
where will it be negative
th boundary between negativve and positive is 0
find whre it is zero

(f-g)(x)=0
1.5x-3=0
1.5x=3
divide both side by 1.5
x=2
at x=2, it is zero
experiment
at x=4, it is 3
so where it is negative is where x<2

intervale is from 2 to negtaive infinity not including 2 so
(2,-∞)
