There are 3 types of plant tissue:

Dermal tissue: this type covers the outside of the plant and protects it. It is also involved in gas exchange and water absorption.

Epidermal cells are important for the above-ground part of the plant protection, preventing water loss, abrasion and damage.

Ground tissue: it makes up the interior of the plant and it is involved in metabolic functions. Ground tissue that conforms stems provide support and store food and water. This type of tissue is also involved in photosynthesis.

Vascular tissue: is conformed of vessels that transport water and nutrients through the plant. It also plays a role in the structural support.
