Answers:

slope = -5

y intercept = 18

================================================

Work Shown:

Solve for y

10x+2y = 36

2(5x+y) = 36

5x+y = 36/2 .... dividing both sides by 2

5x+y = 18

y = 18-5x .... subtract 5x from both sides

y = -5x+18

The last equation is in slope intercept form y = mx+b.

We have m = -5 as the slope and b = 18 as the y intercept.

The slope -5 can be written as -5/1 to indicate "go down 5, go over to the right 1".
