The square root of 98 is 9.899 so I think if it was rounded to the nearest tenth it would be 9.9

Answer: Hello there!

we want to know the square root of 98 rounded to the nearest tenth

first, we have that:
√(98) = 9.8994

And now we need to round it to the nearest tenth.

the nearest tenth is the first number after the decimal point, and in this case is an 8, and you can see that the next number is a 9, when we are rounding, if the next number is 5 or bigger, then we round up (the 8 transforms into a 9) if the next number is less than 5, then we don't round up.

Then in this case we have:
√(98) = 9.9
