Let the total number of flowers be x and remaining flowers be y
x-18=(3/5)x
x-((3/5)*x)-18 = 0
x+(-3/5)*x-18 = 0
2/5*x-18 = 0
2/5*x = 18
x = 18/2/5
x = 45
total flowers = 45
plucked flowers = 18
remaining flowers = y= 45-18 = 27
