mechanical weathering results from changes in temperature and pressure surrounding rocks.The expansion of air and pressure. Mechanical weathering only the size and shape of rocks and their chemical composition.

1. ice wedging
2. pressure release
3. plant root growth
4. cracks the pores of the rocks
5. break up huge boulder rocks
