Bromoethane and aqueous KOH reaction:

When a bromoethane is treated with aqueous KOH, one of the products of the reaction is a primary alcohol, ethanol.

The reaction:

CH3CH3Br + KOH (aq) ==> CH3CH2OH + KBr
